  About The School

Welcome to DeSoto Central Elementary

Desoto Central Elementary School is located in Desoto County at 2411 Central Parkway in Southaven, Mississippi.

Our school accommodates public school students in third through fifth grade. We serve the Southaven, Olive Branch, and Nesbit areas.

With 168,240 people, Desoto County is the 3rd most populated county out of the 82 counties in the state of Mississippi.

We began the 2014-2015 school year with approximately seven hundred and twenty students. We serve a demographically diverse population that includes the following: 5% Asian, 26% Black, 4% Hispanic/Latino and 65% White.

The academically enriched program at Desoto Central Elementary offers a curriculum that includes all county and state performance standards. We provide opportunities for students to pursue a variety of interests and passions both inside and outside of the classroom. Students participate in our school soccer program, cup stacking competitions, Jump Rope for Heart, school musicals, and clubs such as the Bridge Club and National Honor Society.

We recognize the importance of partnering with parents and community members and offer many opportunities to stay involved in the educational process. Open House, field trips, community guest readers, Literacy and Math Nights, Grandparents’ Day, student musicals and awards programs allow parents to partner in the learning processes with their children.

We are proud of our highly talented and dedicated staff at Desoto Central Elementary School. We have some of the most talented and academically successful students in the county. We are proud of our students, teachers, and staff!
