I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at DeSoto Central Elementary. To have a place of growing knowledge and acceptance is what I want for my classroom.  I hope that we will be able to work towards a successful year together.

I was born and raised in Columbus, MS, and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Elementary Education, grades Kindergarten-8th. I am also National Board Certified. I have two amazing boys! Jordan is in 5th grade and Gage is in 3rd grade at DCES. They keep our family extremely busy with baseball and basketball, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I hope that my students will also learn to love learning as much as I do.  By making the classroom a safe, fun, and disciplined place for my students, I know that they will enjoy coming into our classroom and learning something NEW every day! I feel that all children are different and require attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each of my students; as an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each one of them not only an education but a passion to learn.

This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up.  I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers.  Please feel free to text, call or email me when needed.

**Parents please check ClassDojo for newsletters, important events and announcements! I will also be posting pictures of the students working hard and having fun while learning!

**My website will be updated each week. Daily information will be sent via ClassDojo. This is the most effective way way to keep you up to date.

**Please see that your child eats breakfast and remind your child to pack a snack and water each day.

**All transportation changes must be made in writing.  I can not take transportation changes over the phone, email, ClassDojo, or text.

**Please do not send your child to school sick.  Please review the DCES PARENT HANDBOOK for our policy on sick children.  I know it is inconvenient, but please consider the well being of the entire class.
