About the Teacher/Welcome Msg

Soon after I graduated high school I immediately enrolled in Hi-Tech Institute where I obtained my Associates of Applied Science degree in 2008. I then decided to go back to school to study for a degree in education. I enrolled at Northwest Community College and decided to join the 2+2 program which allowed me to earn my Associates of Arts degree in 2013. During the fall of 2013 I enrolled with the University of Mississippi to complete my degree in education. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2015 with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach K-6 and hold endorsements to teach Special Education (K-12), English (7-12), and Social Studies (7-12).

I have been employed with DeSoto County schools since 2013. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant in first grade for two years before becoming a certified teacher. During the fall and spring of 2015 I completed my student teaching in my first grade class. I learned so much from my first grade students and really enjoyed being able to impact my students' learning, as well as, make memories with them.

Hello! Welcome to my class website! My name is Elizabeth Williams, but I go by Liz for short. My husband and I have been married for 9 years this year; and we have four children and Yorkie whose name is "Max". :) I have always held a passion for teaching and can remember pretending to "play school" when I was in first grade. I enjoy educating myself as well as others. When I see a child's eyes light up because "they got it" or understand something it's a wonderful feeling for me. I am so excited to be part of DCES and thrilled to teach your child this year! We are going to have a great year!
