About the Teacher/Welcome Msg

The counseling program helps to ensure that students are successful in school.  I collaborate with teachers, administration, and parents to address social, emotional, and academic needs with students as needed.  I work one-on-one with students, conduct small groups, and see each class monthly for a classroom counseling lesson. Please ask your students about the classroom discussions!

My undergraduate degree in Pyschology is from the University of Memphis. I also graduated with my master's degree in school counseling from the University of Mississippi.

I was a DeSoto County behavior tech for four years, a counselor intern for a year and a half at DeSoto Central Elementary, and took my first counseling position in 2015 at DeSoto Central.

I am Jenny Solomon, the school counselor for DeSoto Central Elementary. Before becoming a counselor, I was a behavior tech with DeSoto County schools.

Class Schedule

All students attend classroom counseling once per month. Students also attend small group and individual counseling as needed.
