Hi there!

I'm Miss Earnest and this is my third year at Desoto Central Elementary School! I taught for three years in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Roll Tide) before I moved to Southaven. I'm a proud dog mom of a 6 pound yorkie named Maisy. I love teaching fifth grade and can't wait for all the fun we will have learning this year! :)

This year in science we will be covering Physical Science, Space and the Solar System, and Life Science. One of the best ways that you can help your student succeed in science this year is by letting them talk to you about what they are learning and what it means to them. If they are able to describe the content from class to you in their own words and have conversations about it, then they are doing great! 

I am so excited for this year and what's in store for your child's growth! I hope they learn a lot, laugh a lot, and realize the value each of them has in this world.

Education and Experience:

I attended the University of Alabama in 2014 and earned my degree in Elementary Education. I stayed in Tuscaloosa to teach for 3 years after I graduated and fell in love with teaching science and social studies. This is my sixth year to teach science and my fifth year to teach social studies. 

Personal Info:

I love Disney, sunflowers, trivia, and space! I am completely fascinated by all things science and am so honored to be a science teacher! I also love to travel and hope to one day see all of our country's National Parks.
