About the Teacher

After spending 3 years as a teacher's assistant, I made the decision to return to school to pursue my Education degree.  I graduated from the University of Mississippi in May of 2013, and I am EXCITED to be your child's teacher this year! I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade and this is my third year teaching 5th grade!

     I am a proud life-long Desoto County resident.  I graduated from Horn Lake High School in 1992.  My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 24 years and live in Nesbit, MS.  We have two sons, Connor & Owen, both graduates of DCHS.  My family and I are huge Memphis Grizzlies fans and enjoy going to Grizz games.  In my "ME TIME" -- I love to attend OrangeTheory Fitness classes, hang out with friends, read, and float in the pool.

         It is my desire that your child learns more from my classroom than just academics.  In our classroom, we are a team.  We will work together, support each other, and above all else, WE WILL BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER!  On the academic side, I expect 100% effort each and every day.  Our class moto:  If you don't have time to do it right, you must have time to do it over!  I will work hard all year to instill a good work ethic in my students. It's going to be a fantastic year!
