Suggested Tasks for the Week


MULTIPLICATION MONDAY-

  • RAINBOW WRITE 7 TIMES TABLE 5X. (7X1=7, 7X2=14, 7X3=21, …)
  • CREATE 10 MULTIPLICATION PROBLEMS BY ROLLING DICE (ROLL TWO NUMBERS AND MULTIPLY) OR USING A DECK OF CARDS (PUT DECK FACE DOWN, FLIP TWO CARDS OVER AND MULTIPLY).

     

    TECH TUESDAY-

  • LOG ON TO YOUR FAVORITE MATH APP AND COMPLETE 30 MINUTES OF FUN! SEND YOUR TEACHER A PIC ON DOJO/REMIND OF YOU MASTERING MATH SKILLS!
  • DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO AN APP? MULTIPLICATION.COM HAS TONS OF FUN LEARNING GAMES! I ALSO AM ADDING SOME NON-TECH WAYS TO PRACTICE FACTS ON MY WEBSITE.

 

WACKY WORD PROBLEM WEDNESDAY-

  • CREATE 5 WACKY WORD PROBLEMS. MAKE THESE WORD PROBLEMS AS SILLY AS YOU CAN!
  • GO EASY WITH -1 STEP ADDITION/SUBTRACTION OR IF YOUR’E AN EXPERT TRY CREATING 2-STEP ADD/SUB WORD PROBLEMS.
  • WRITE THE WORD PROBLEMS IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, AND YOU CAN EVEN PUT AN ILLUSTRATION WITH THEM! **REMEMBER CUBES STRATEGY!
  • SEND A PIC OF THEM TO YOUR TEACHER TO SOLVE! J

 

THINKING THURSDAY-

  • LOG ON TO YOUR FAVORITE THINKING MATH APP OR WEBSITE. USE YOUR BRAIN AND THINK FOR 30 OR MORE MINUTES!

     

    FREE FRIYAY-

  • SPEND 30 MINUTES DOING A MATH ACTIVITY THAT YOU LOVE! SEND YOUR TEACHER A PIC OF WHAT YOU CHOOSE!

Use a set of dice or deck of cards to make multiplication problems. Write a story problem for 5 of the problems. Make area models with 5 of them. calculate the area and the perimeter.

Do jumping 2 minutes. at the end of the 2 minutes round the number to the nearest 10 and 100.

Children need to decide a start time and choose three chores to complete. The should record the ending time. Students should make a timeline to calculate the elapsed time.

Graphing- Take cans out of the pantry. construct a bar graph and a pictograph. Students will then make up one and two-step word problems for the graph  to solve.
